Digital Transformation, The Future Path For Health
“EHealth by CEDIA”, the national network that promotes initiatives involving technology in favor of quality improvement and digital transformation in Healthcare, develops its first workshop in the ninth edition of the TICEC congress.
In this event, the regional articulation of the network and the efforts developed by CEDIA, through the socialization of the eHealth approach will be disseminated. The assistants will be able to have a global vision of the ECHO project, as well as global financing alternatives, to support the development of projects regarding the use of technology in health. On the other hand, important efforts developed by the Ecuadorian academy supported by CEDIA through its calls for competitive funds will be presented.
Finally, the last one of the SIGs with a One Health approach will be developed during the event, through the socialization of advances and perspectives that competent public entities have developed in matters of human health, food safety, and environmental health.

Sanjeev Arora
He is a gastroenterologist at the New England Medical Center Boston United States. He is currently the founder and director of the ECHO Institute at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, which promotes the de-monopolization of knowledge, through the care of people with limited access to different health services. He has had experience as a professor of medicine in Universities around the United States; He has also been part of the staff of doctors in various health centers.

The challenges of telehealth for Latin America
Alejandro Mauro
He is a specialist in Medical Informatics with vast experience and knowledge in the efficient management of Health Information Technology projects. He obtained the title of “Surgeon” from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). He currently works as Head of the Department of Biomedical Informatics at Clínica Alemana de Santiago; Also, he has experience as a digital health advisor for the Ministry of Health of Chile.

Joseline Carias
Joseline Carias is a project consultant on issues related to digital transformation, a promoter of digital health and a networking activist. She is currently the General Manager of the Central American Network of Health Informatics – RECAINSA, a network of Latin American volunteers created with the intention of supporting national and regional digital health strategies and generating spaces for the exchange of experiences and good practices both in the public sector, as in private. She is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of DESISCOM, a company dedicated to the application of information technologies and digital transformation in social projects, primarily in the health sector. She is the co-creator of several projects aimed at professional women in the region with the aim of achieving greater participation by Latin American women in the field of digital health.

Marco Benalcazar
Doctor in Electronic Engineering from the National University of Mar del Plata in Argentina. Currently, he is a professor and researcher in the Department of Informatics and Computer Science of the National Polytechnic School. He is also the director of the “Alan Turing” Artificial Vision and Intelligence Research Laboratory at the National Polytechnic School. He has led several research projects on the fundamentals and applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning. He has more than 10 years of experience working in these areas. He is also a scientific disseminator and consultant in the area of artificial intelligence and has been the recipient of several awards for his outstanding research.

Diego Morales
He has a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences graduated from the University of the Americas and a Bachelor of Biology graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador. He currently performs his functions as Zonal Expert of the Laboratory of Epidemiological Surveillance and National Reference of vectors at the National Institute for Public Health Research. He has also served as an associate researcher in projects related to the study of vectors and epidemiological factors.
Andrés Factos
He is a Master in Biosafety of genetically modified plants from Delle Marche Polytechnic Italia University, and he is a Biotechnology Engineer from the ESPE Armed Forces University. He currently works as a Biosafety Specialist in the Biodiversity Unit of the Ministry of the Environment, Water and Ecological Transition. He has also worked as a coordinator and researcher in biotechnology projects.
Cristian Salamea
Electronic Engineer from the Salesian Polytechnic University in 2004, Master in Design, Management and Project Management from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in 2009, Doctor of Electronic Systems Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, International Doctorate with the maximum CUM-LAUDE distinction in 2018. More than 20 scientific publications indexed with topics related to Natural Language Processing, Speech Technology and Automatic Language Recognition, all using Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Digital Signal Processing tools. Winner of the best article in the SmartTech-IC-2019 Congress held in the City of Quito in December 2019. Winner of the best article in the track “Science, Technology and Innovation for Information and Telecommunications” at the VII International Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation for Society CITIS 2021.

She currently performs her duties as Project Manager and Research Management at CEDIA. She has experience in the management of environmental, science, and technology projects, as well as projects with a social and regulatory scope.

He is founder of Solver Consultancy and Chofi App. He has worked as product manager at Junior Chamber International. His experience also includes firms such as Welfare as associate consultant, and entrepreneurship advising for Hult Prize Foundation, CODES, Fundacion Telefonica, and many more.
